Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Maria Weston Chapman wants to publish a speech of Dr. Walter Channing, or a letter from him which requested her not to publish the speech. There has been a rumor that Channing "never gave his adherence to the anti-slavery principles: that it was a misrepresentation on the part of Mrs. Chapman." Chapman concludes that she should either publish an account of Channing's speech or get permission from Channing to publish his letter.
