Griffing reaffirms the truth of his charges against Parker Pillsbury and asks who is refuting his story. He denies May's charges that he is a biased and interested witness and therefore not credible. Griffing intimates that May agrees with Pillsbury on the subject of Free Love. He cites the case of William Lloyd Garrison's denunciation of Frederick Douglass.
